To coincide with the release of ‘Getting Go: The Go Doc Project’, So So Gay sat down with Matthew Camp, who plays Go, to ask him about the film.
We’ve already chatted to his co-star Tanner Cohen; now, we reveal what Matthew Camp had to say about his eponymous role in Getting Go: The Go Doc Project, and how his life as a go-go dancer made it all the more personal…
So So Gay: Hi Matthew. First of all, we really enjoyed the film; for those who haven’t seen it yet, can you tell us a little about the film and your role?
Matthew Camp: So the film is kind of like a documentary-styled fiction movie that is based loosely on me, I guess, as a person. Basically, it’s a fictional love story between Go, who is a a go-go dancer and Doc (Cohen), who is a film student who is creating a final film project. Doc develops an internet crush on Go, and starts to stalk him, using the film as an excuse, and they end up having a romance.
Can you tell us a little more about what drew you to the project?
Well, I hadn’t really ever had an opportunity to do this kind of acting before
